Between two feeds, a diaper change and a (hopefully 😅) nap, we often forget to eat…

Or nibble on just about anything. But breastfeeding requires a lot of energy, and your body needs to be nourished gently and kindly.

Today, we’re sharing a simple, quick and delicious recipe: energy balls!

They’re ideal for filling up on nutrients without the headache.

Ingredients (for about 10 balls):

  • 100g rolled oats (rich in fibre and iron)
  • 2 tablespoons chia seeds (full of omega-3 and protein)
  • 2 tablespoons almond or peanut butter (source of good fats and energy)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (for sweetness)
  • 50g chocolate chips or raisins (as desired!)
  • 1 pinch salt
  • a little water or vegetable milk (optional, to adjust texture)

Preparation:

1 In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients.

2 If the dough is a little dry, add a small splash of water or vegetable milk.

3 Shape balls with your hands (or with an ice-cream scoop if you’re in a hurry!).

4 Place in a cool place for 30 minutes to set.

And that’s it! You’ve got a healthy, nutritious snack on hand, ready to enjoy at any time. 💛

Tested and approved!

💡 A little extra advice:

These balls keep for up to 5 days in the fridge.
They can also be frozen and taken out as you go.
Perfect for slipping into the diaper bag for a little break on a walk.
